Could you live without light bulbs?

Could you live without light bulbs? Is facebook more important to you than central heating? How essential is your car? Are hair straighteners more important than bottled water?  Is internet connection imperative? Could you choose between a mobile phone and coffee?

After looking at the results Science Museum Exhibition Manager Sarah Richardson said, “Brits are obsessed by the weather, so it’s not surprising sunshine was rated as the top thing we couldn’t live without. But to say you can’t live without material things over drinking water is crazy.”

Light bulbs ranked a respectable 40th in the survey, however, one can’t help but ask how many of the things in the top 50 list are dependent on light bulbs in some way? Perhaps if the survey was undertaken again after people had tried to shower in the dark, drive in the evening without headlights or attempted to tell the time from a wristwatch at night the results might be slightly different….

Here at The Lamp Company we believe that light bulbs are essential, that’s why we stock over 30,000 product lines of all the major manufacturers and at any one time have stock levels of over one million items.
