Philips Lighting have launched two excellent long life triphosphor fluorescent tubes: the Xtra tube which lasts up to 55,000 hours when used with electronic ballast and up to 35,000 hours with magnetic ballast and the Xtreme tube which has up to 79,000 hours life on electronic ballast and up to 49,000 hours on magnetic ballast. The Xtreme lamps really are perfect for those who want to fit and forget!
The lamps use highly efficient 3-band fluorescent coating in combination with new generation pre-coating technology to ensure excellent colour uniformity. The new technology will significantly reduce early failures and greatly increase reliability and lamp life. The lamps also contain low levels of mercury and use fully recyclable lamp technology.
Ultimately this all means less hassle and lower maintenance costs for the customer and facilitates the move towards group rather than individual lamp replacement. Thus less waste, disposal cost and expenditure in the long term.
